Robert Stoesser
Lead Pastor
As the Lead Pastor of New Life Cupertino, Robert Stoesser is in charge of a variety of the church’s local ministries as well as cooperating with partner churches in a regional network.
Before taking on the leadership role in Cupertino, Robert served as city-pastor for the fresh expression church “Kirche in Aktion” (Church in Action) in Wiesbaden, Germany. There he led a multi-ethnic congregation with a majority of believers coming from a Muslim background. During his time as pastor he was involved in a variety of missional outreaches and led work & witness teams to the Philippines and Ukraine where they served victims of human trafficking and survivors of the Holocaust.
Robert was part of the leadership team of several social projects in the Rhein-Main-region with a focus on empowering refugees and helping victims of human trafficking. As a project manager for the church, he leveraged his professional experience in marketing, sales and business development that he gained while in roles such as: working as a sales & store manager for an international fashion company in Germany and Ecuador, a tea company in Japan, etc.
Robert is married to Krystal who served together with him in Germany as an urban missionary for Church in Action which is how they initially got acquainted… and eventually married.
Robert’s Master Dissertation, an investigation of the effectiveness of third place ministries in reaching non-believers in postmodern cities, earned him a degree at the Nazarene Theological College / University of Manchester in England.
Yokie Koh
Office Manager
Yokie joined New Life in 1998, and started to serve as our Office Manager in 2004. Much of her work is behind the scenes, but it allows us to have more time for our community.
She graduated from Iowa State University majoring in Computer Science.
Leadership Board
The facility, finances, ministry, and operations of New Life Church are all overseen by an annually elected church board made up of members from our church. The church board meets monthly, with occasional extra meetings as needed. Church board meetings are generally open to anyone, unless a closed session is necessary for dealing with personnel issues or other sensitive topics. The board is chaired by the Lead Pastor of the church.
District Network
New Life Church is part of the Northern California District, or network, of other Nazarene churches in our area. Each year we elect delegates to represent our church at the Northern California District Assembly. These meetings are held in May to coordinate and oversee the business of about 70 Nazarene churches in Northern California.
